Mary “Lou’ Morrison, 72, of Townsend, Montana passed away Sunday, February 17, 2008 at Aspen Gardens in Helena.
Lou was born November 17, 1935 in Wolverton, Minn. to Melvin B. and Amy L. (Anderson) Johnson. The family moved from Minnesota to East Helena in 1950. She graduated from Helena High School in 1953.
Lou’s uncle introduced her to Del Morrison. They were married February 17, 1956, in East Helena and were truly devoted to each other for 49 years. Del preceded her in death on July 30, 2005.
Lou traveled with Del to many Montana cities during his career with the telephone company and several states during his work on missile sites. In 1987, Del retired and they moved to Townsend. Lou worked at various jobs throughout their travels. Her hobbies were knitting, crocheting and painting working with chalk, watercolors and oils, with scenery and Lou and Del were definitely outdoors people. flowers being her favorites.

They loved to bowl, fish, hunt and camp. Lou was very good with a bow and arrow. She entered a lot of competitions and won many. Del and Lou also taught Archery Hunter Safety classes.
She is survived by her sisters LaVay (Ed) Johnson, East Helena, Sheila (Rodger) Nordahl, Helena; brother Ron (Barb) Johnson, Liberty Lake, Wash.; step sister Rhonda Pursley, East Helena and step brothers Randy (Jane) Pursley, Clancy and Ron (Nannette) Pursley, North Carolina. She is also survived by her sister in law Emma Morrison, Townsend and brother in law Leroy Collins, Radersburg. Lou is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Family requests donations to donor’s choice. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 22, 2008 at Connors Funeral Home, followed by graveside committal at Radersburg Cemetery. A reception will follow at the American Legion Club in Townsend.
