BC Sheriff Office asking for permanent mill levy to be on June Ballot

The Broadwater County Sheriff’s Office has requested that the county commissioners authorize a permanent mill levy, for the purpose of funding equipment, training upgrades and wage increases, be added to the June 3 ballot. This would give the voters of Broadwater County the option of passing or denying a levy of approximately 11.12 mills per year. Continue>

Townsend wrestlers pin down top notches at State Match

The BHS Wrestling Team traveled to Billings recently to compete in the State Match. Townsend took nine wrestlers to the event and three of them placed. Topping the team with unprecedented double state championships were the Rauser twins, Jade and Val. Brit Thompson placed fifth. Continue>

Lois Irene Keenan Olsen died on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008 at the Broadwater Health Center in Townsend. Lois was born to Harriet and Thomas Keenan in Grinnell, Iowa, on October 14, 1926, the youngest of four children. Older brothers were Mike, Dinty, and Bernie. Continue>
