Mrs. Henry Young brought in a newspaper clipping last week taken from the Palladium - item and Sun Telegram, Richmond, Ind., showing a picture of her brother, Howard Spoonmore, inspecting one of the State hospital buildings where he is helping install an automatic fire alarm system. The system is a series of wires placed in the building which set off an alarm when any point along the cable becomes hot.

75 Years Ago this Week


Pete Cartwright, Misses Bernice Daniels and Marguerite Menge motored to Helena Sunday and were present when the big Ford tri-motor plane landed at the Helena Airport. The plane was transporting Amelia Earhart Putman and party on their western trip over the proposed air mail route from St. Paul, west. Several other Townsend people swelled the crowd.

100 Years Ago this Week


Estrayed:-- Came to my place some time this winter six fine Turkeys, one fine gobbler and five hens. They are branded around the neck and head with a light red band, their wings are slightly tinged with white. If the owner uses due diligence he or she will get the same. Otherwise their flesh will find ingress to the “Big Kettle” and their bones will bleach in the back yard of ye editor.
