Francis John (Pat) Kenney

Francis John (Pat) Kenney died Tuesday March 11, 2008 at Townsend Personal Care at the age of 87.
He was known as “Pat” throughout most of his life, a nickname he earned as a result of a part in a play in grade school. He was born November 19, 1920 at Beaver Creek, near Winston, Mt. to Elmer and Annie (Fisher) Kenney.
Pat never married and for most of his life, he lived at the family home caring for his mother and sister until they passed away. In 2003 the family home was sold at which time he moved into an apartment and later into the Townsend Personal Care.
Pat was a descendent of George Beatty, who was either the first or second homesteader in Broadwater County and who helped establish schools and the Methodist churches both in Winston and Townsend.
Pat had several occupations throughout his long life. He worked for a lumber company, a mining company and as a farm laborer for Lonnie Merritt and William Guffey. On the side he had a small electrical business. He was well known for his garden, especially his carrots which he loved to share with his friends.
A member of the Methodist church, one of his favorite activities was singing in the choir. Pat was also a 50-year member of Valley Lodge #21.
He is survived by his brothers Robert (Peggy) Kenney of Townsend, Glenn Kenney of Helena; nephews, Gene (Kim) of Havre, Rodger (Sara) of Anaconda, Phillip (Sandra) Kenney of Pocatello, Idaho, Kurt (Ann) Kenney of Seattle, Wash. and nieces, Karen (Hugh) Moore of Spokane, Wash.; Barbara Jones of Billings along with a number of grand nieces and nephews. Numerous cousins include Mary Hargrove of Townsend, Al and Maude Hadcock of Billings, Wesley and Margaret Beatty of Clancy, Norma Ashby of Great Falls and Pat McMahon of Amherst, Nebraska.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, his brother Bill Kenney in WWII in New Guinea, sisters Bertha and Margaret Kenney.
Memorial services will be held at the Trailhead church (5 miles north of Townsend) March 28th at 11:00 a.m. Reception following. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be sent to IOOF Cemetery Assoc. Box 962, Helena, Mt 59624 or to your own choice. Private internment in the IOOF Cemetery will be held later.

Harry Zabrocki

Harry Zabrocki of Townsend passed away to be with the Lord March 10th, at Fort Harrison.
Survivors are his wife Clara, son David and his wife Mary Zabrocki of Texas. Two grandsons, Jason Zabrocki, Maryland, and Drew Zabrocki and his wife Sarah, Wenatchee, Wash.; two great grand children, Jordan & Alex of Maryland; Two Sisters Gertrude O’Connor and Elaine Freeman.
Graveside services will be held at Fort Harrison March 24, at 11:00 a.m. with Military honors. Reception will be at the American Legion Club in Townsend.
Memorials can be made to Ft. Harrison Hospital or Donor’s choice.

C. Glenn Johnson

C. Glenn Johnson, 83, of Townsend passed away March 9, 2008 at the Broadwater Health Center in Townsend.
Glenn was the son of Carl G. and Nell (Roth) Johnson. He was born October 14, 1924 at Bozeman. Glenn had lived 66 years on the family farm on Johnson Road and attended Anderson School.
Due to his failing health in 1991 he sold the farm and moved to Townsend to be near his family.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew. He is survived by two sisters Joan & Duane Falske of Mountain Home, Idaho and Betty & Larry Watterson of Helena; two nieces Linda Teigen, Helena and Carla Jayne, Portland, Ore.; nephew Steve Watterson, Spokane, Wash. and two grand nieces and two grand nephews.
Glenn loved to hunt and fish and spend time at the family cabin on Moose Creek in the Gallatin Canyon where he wished his ashes to be spread.
Services will be held at a later date.
