Last Tuesday afternoon a bag containing $295 was stolen from Lundy’s Supermarket. The bag was in an unlocked safe at the front of the store. Although the safe is located near the check out stands apparently no one saw anyone near the safe before the robbery was discovered. Local lawmen are continuing their investigation.

Mrs. Gertrude Olsen will leave again for Galen tomorrow where she will consult her physicians. She was sent home several months ago but warned to keep off her limb, which is healing from a tubercular infection in the knee and has been advised to return again to the sanitarium for examination and from all appearances she will be allowed once more to walk without crutches which is much to the pleasure of herself and many friends here.
The appearance of large flocks of sea gulls in different parts of the valley, predicts a wet season, so goes the forecast by old timers who have witnessed the visit of theses river or sea fowl in previous years. The gulls seem to inhabit the river and fly to fields in day time to feed upon worms etc. Large flocks have been noticed in the valley in the last few weeks. |

During the fore part of the week the Sheriff’s office in this county was busy. Tom Hudson of Toston lost a wagon one night last week and as soon as possible after he discovered that it had been taken he got busy with the Sheriff’s office here to the extent of getting Sheriff Deadond on the trail within very short time. It seem that Mr. Deaddmond was at Livingston on other official business, when the wagon was taken and Mr. Hudson after satisfying himself that the wagon was really stolen and not borrowed by a neighbor, communicated with Mr. McCormick, the Under Sheriff. Mr. McCormich went to Toston, sized up the situation and when No. 11 came along got on and found Mr. Deadmond aboard.
