The methodist Church choir honored Ann Kirksey for thirty-five years of service as choir director, Sunday.
Reigning over the 1983 Broadwater County High School Junior- Senior Prom were Angel Armstrong and Ted Wall, King and Queen, and Amy Schubring and Dave Masolo, princess and prince. Recently, it has been discovered that a population of solid black garter snakes occurs in the Townsend area from Deep Dale fishing access site south of town to the Deep Creek Valley east of town. Amber Rose Floral opened last week with an array of fresh flowers, potted plants and silk bouquets decorating the newly remodeled interior of the shop. Located at 110 Broadway, the floral shop is owned by Peggy Long, a new resident of Townsend. Rodger Kenney, 26, was sworn in as a Montana Highway Patrolman. |

The Board of Trustees of School District No. 1 conducted their regular meeting in the office of the grade school Tuesday night. Their principal item of business was the matter of the petition for an election to sell bonds for the erection of four new classrooms for the Cecilia Hazelton elementary school.

Wm. Horne, who is engaged in construction work on the highway project near Wolf Creek, spent Sunday at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Horne.
Henry Hartman moved from Royal Smith’s place to the cabin on the Ford place, recuperating from a recent illness. B.F. Thrailkill, state dairy and poultry commissioner, reports that the butter and egg producing businesses are both looking up, and that the price for butterfat is improving and also that for eggs. Butterfat, which was selling not long ago at 14 or 15 cents, now is at 18 or 20 cents. Eggs also show definite increases. George Harris had the misfortune to break his leg while working cattle Sunday. Dr. Bayles reduced the fracture. |

On Friday evening of last week it began to rain and did not stop until it had soaked the entire country from mountain to mountain. Crops are almost insured and grass will get such a start that it is sure to mature in large quantities.
T.O.C. Plunkett shipped his weekly shipment of trout to the Davenport restaurant, Spokane, Wednesday morning. Mrs. Dave Williams who for several weeks, has been in Helena with her little daughter, returned to her home on Crow Creek Sunday. She did not however, bring Myrna with her, though. |
